The armor doesn't ask permission, it fuses to your spine and you're a weapon whether you're ready or not. This OVA moves like a bullet fired from somewhere off-screen, cutting through plot to hit viscera and bone, creature design so grotesque it rewires what your eyes expect from animation in 1989. You walk in thinking you're watching a kid discover a superpower; you leave knowing that in this world, there is no safe place to hide, not in school, not at home, not inside your own body.

Shou and his friend Tetsurou come across a strange orb-shaped device in the woods. The device, called the Guyver Unit, bonds with Shou's body and turns him into the alien soldier Guyver. His task is to keep the unit out of the hands of Chronos, a Japanese corporation that wants it along with two matching units. To get it back, Chronos sends vicious monsters called Zoanoids, and no one in Shou's life is safe, Shou included. The six-episode OVA mixes action, horror and science fiction.
