Tatsuya remains untouchable, and season three doubles down on exactly that: watching an overpowered protagonist operate at a level everyone else can only theorize about is the entire appeal here. The magic system logic gets dense enough that you're either leaning in hard or checking your phone every five minutes. If you made it this far into Mahouka, you already know what you're signing up for, more world-building, more technical precision, more of a guy who solves problems before anyone realizes there was a problem to solve.

Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba start their second year at First High School, where the founding of a new Magic Engineering Department reshuffles the students in their year. Some of the incoming freshmen stir up trouble, both with each other and with their seniors. Outside the school, rival interest groups are fueling a growing anti-magic movement. After a warning from the Yotsuba family, Tatsuya moves to counter the schemes of corrupt politicians and journalists. He fends off a first attack that paints First High as an unofficial military training ground, but his most dangerous opponents have not yet made their move. The season is a sci-fi action story with supernatural elements.
