Aus is a young man from Mecca with a mysterious past, a humble potter who has left a sinful life behind for honor and faith. When General Abraha marches north with a vast army demanding the city's surrender, the enslavement of its people and the destruction of the Kaaba, a handful of Meccan men choose to stay and fight. Vastly outnumbered and relying on simple defenses, Aus struggles with his own doubts and fears as he works to unite his friends on the eve of battle. The night shifts when Zurara, an atheist mercenary and Aws' old partner in crime, reappears and joins the defense for food and pay.
