Kyon's high school life is turned upside down when he is pulled into the SOS Brigade, a club led by the excitable Haruhi Suzumiya. From the first day of school she declares that ordinary people bore her and that she only wants to meet aliens, time travelers and espers, and she means every word. Kyon gave up on the supernatural long ago, yet since joining he keeps witnessing things that logic cannot explain. Haruhi can reshape the world without knowing it, and Kyon, aware of how dangerous that could be, tries to keep her wildest plans under control. Joining him are the timid, soft-spoken Mikuru Asahina, the bookish Yuki Nagato and the always cheerful Itsuki Koizumi. From summer vacation to the school festival, anything involving the club and its leader turns strange, mixing comedy with mystery, science fiction and everyday school life.
