Daisuke Kambe is filthy rich, and he knows it. When this heir to one of Japan's wealthiest families is assigned to the Modern Crime Prevention Task Force at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, he brings his bottomless fortune straight into the investigation room. He spends whatever it takes to crack difficult cases, and he tends to judge everything, even human lives, by what it is worth in cash. Enter Haru Katou, a kindhearted detective who holds that money is not everything. He's paired with Kambe whether he likes it or not, and he is disgusted by his new partner's materialism. Their partnership is basically a collision between two opposing forces: one who sees human lives as balance sheet entries, the other who puts justice first. Despite their constant clashes, the two must work together to solve crimes and mysteries that look impossible to crack. Adapted from Yasutaka Tsutsui's novel and set in the present day, the series mixes action, comedy, mystery and sci-fi.
