A one-off OVA that somehow lands better than most full seasons of romance anime: four girls, one band, zero script and everything falls apart in ways that actually matter. The chemistry reads like these characters have been in a room together for years instead of minutes. It's a K-ON parody that understands the original so well it becomes its own thing, and by the time the ending theme hits, you realize you just watched what a Keima victory actually costs when he's not around to manage it.

Chihiro starts a rock band with her friends Elsie, Ayumi and Miyako, but their playing is awful and they badly need practice. Elsie proposes a light music club with its own room, but Kodama-sensei refuses to approve any new clubs unless all four girls earn a perfect score on their next English test. Just as they are ready to quit, the famous idol Kanon, thrilled that her classmates care about music, reveals she will headline the upcoming school festival. Chihiro's competitive streak kicks in, and she vows the band will take Kanon on. With grades to fix and no practice room, the girls look to Keima Katsuragi, who never misses a perfect mark, for help. The single-episode comedy romance OVA was packaged with the fourteenth volume of the manga and adapts chapters 54 and 55.
