Keima's caught in a system where he has to genuinely fall for girls to save them, and the show finds all its comedy in the gap between what he's trying to do and what actually happens. The romance isn't decoration, it's the thing that breaks his perfect strategy every single time. You watch a guy who speedruns dating games get demolished by the fact that real people don't follow his flowcharts.

Keima Katsuragi, a high schooler famed online as a god of dating sims, is still bound by his contract with the demon Elsie. He keeps hunting runaway spirits that hide in girls' hearts, driving them out by winning over those girls with tactics learned from games, even though real girls are the last thing he wants to deal with. His new targets range from a karate practitioner to a student teacher. Meanwhile Haqua, Elsie's friend from Hell and a newly promoted district chief, arrives chasing a spirit of her own, and she seems to be keeping a secret. The result is a supernatural romantic comedy about a reluctant expert forced to play the game in real life.
