This OVA knows exactly what it is: six episodes of pure premise comedy with zero apologies. A body-swap gag becomes the spine for a show that's more interested in reaction shots and absurd situations than plot momentum. The comedy lands because To LOVE-Ru understands that the best ecchi joke is the one that catches you off-guard, not the one telegraphed three scenes ahead.
Rito Yuuki is still sharing a house with his sister Mikan and Lala, an alien girl, and his everyday life keeps getting messier in this collection of standalone adventures. Lala's gadgets misfire in ridiculous ways: one of them turns Rito into a girl, another changes him into a dog just before a trip to an island resort, and yet another fuses his hand to her tail. Mikan runs off upset and needs to be found, and the whole group ends up stuck inside an RPG on a quest to rescue Lala. Lala's twin younger sisters, Nana and Momo, also turn up to stir up trouble at a cherry blossom viewing. Each episode plays out as scenario comedy with an ecchi, sci-fi slant, with Rito landing in awkward predicaments alongside his growing circle of girls. The sci-fi gimmicks are never meant to be taken seriously, and Rito's suffering is the punchline.
