Toaru Kagaku no Railgun returns for a fourth TV season. The show adapts the Railgun manga, written by Kamachi Kazuma and illustrated by Fuyukawa Motoi, which is a spin-off of the Toaru Majutsu no Index light novels, manga and anime. Earlier seasons centered on Mikoto Misaka, the electricity-wielding esper known as the Ace of Tokiwadai, a prestigious all-girls' middle school in Academy City. The third season set her against the Daihasei Festival and the outside factions trying to slip into the city while it opened its gates.
