A comedy that parodies the car racing anime of its day. Two rival car company bosses settle their feud on the track by sponsoring competing race teams. Chairman Gapporin brings in Okkanabichi, a top racer, while Chairman Misaki puts his faith in Riki Kazama, a fairly inexperienced driver, behind the wheel of the flying car Machine Hiryu. Riki is backed by his girlfriend Nana, the young mechanic Chuta, and a pair of animal companions, while comical villains scheme on the sidelines. The show borrows from Speed Racer and Time Bokan, and some of its staff later became big names.
