Tooyamazakura Uchuuchou: Yatsu no Na wa Gold is a single-episode science-fiction adventure OVA from 1988. It loosely draws on the life of Tooyama Kagemoto (1793-1855), a hatamoto who served the Tokugawa shogunate in the Edo period. He is remembered in popular culture as Kin-san, from his childhood name Kinshirou. He became a stage hero through an 1893 kabuki play and was later retold by novelists and in live-action TV dramas. Here that historical figure is recast in a science-fiction setting.
