Two guys who barely tolerate each other riffing on a planet that doesn't make sense, animated so clean it hurts to watch. The plot is a mess on purpose, which is the point, letting the dialogue and character chemistry carry you through four episodes that feel like hanging out with people who actually like talking to each other. This is what happens when you let animators and comedians make something without needing it to add up.
In the far future, ace pilot Trava and his mechanic friend Shinkai take a contract to mark Area 78 on the remote planet Fable. The payment is very generous, yet the pair cannot shake a bad feeling about such an easy assignment. Near the planet they come across Mikuru, a young woman in cryosleep who has lost her memory, and the three soon learn that Fable is not what it appears. The four-episode OVA mixes mecha action, science fiction and broad comedy, and it began as part of the Grasshoppa! short film anthology.
