Vash walks into a town built on quicksand where every hunter wants blood, and for two hours the movie doesn't stop moving, it's pure momentum dressed up in hand-drawn perfection. The animation does things the TV series couldn't touch: Wolfwood's coat flows like it has weight, bullets carve through air you can feel, the choreography breathes. If you watched the original show and wondered what Trigun would look like with a studio that had time and money to spare, this is the answer.

Vash the Stampede turns up in Macca, a town ringed by quicksand on the desolate planet of Gunsmoke, just as an outlaw from his past resurfaces. Twenty years ago Gasback led a bank heist that went wrong, and he has sworn to get even with the crew who betrayed him and with Vash, who stopped him from killing them. Now that crew lives comfortably as businessmen and politicians, and Mayor Kepler has gathered bounty hunters to guard the town. Among them is Amelia, a woman with her own grudge against Gasback, though Wolfwood stands in her way as the outlaw's bodyguard. Insurance agents Meryl and Milly arrive to size up the situation, and Vash, whose actions two decades ago started it all, is caught in the middle of this action comedy.
