A compilation film that condenses the Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 series, first shown at event screenings. In 2199, relentless bombing by the Gamilas Empire has left Earth unable to support life, and humanity has one year left. A message from the far planet Iscandar promises a device that can restore the world, so the Earth Defense Force sends the Space Battleship Yamato on a 148,000 light-year journey to claim it. Under Captain Okita Juuzou, young officers such as Kodai Susumu and Shima Daisuke must master the ship's new technology while fending off Gamilas fleets.
