A ghost trying to save someone from drowning realizes too late that she's the one who's already gone. The video doesn't explain this until the final seconds, which means you watch the whole thing thinking you're seeing rescue when you're actually watching goodbye. YOASOBI's production and Dokai's direction move so fast you don't have time to catch what's happening until it rewires what you already saw.

Umi no Manimani is a music video for the YOASOBI song of the same name, directed by Asuka Dokai. The song draws on "Yuurei", a story by Mizuki Tsujimura from the short story collection "Hajimete no". The single-episode piece is a short psychological music video with a supernatural bent.
