A unicorn cursed to wander across time and space, forced to bring happiness to strangers while his own existence is erased the moment he leaves. Unico arrives in a dying industrial city where a sick girl needs exactly what he offers, and the film knows the cruelty of that setup, the way kindness can be a burden when you're forbidden to stay. Unico is a unicorn with a mysterious gift: everyone he meets becomes happy, though no one knows whether it comes from his nature or from his horn. He belongs to Psyche, a lovely human girl whose good fortune shields her from the jealous goddess Venus. Venus blames Unico for that luck and has him banished, and from then on the West Wind carries him from one place and time to another. The wind sets him down in a city so polluted that smoke from a nearby factory blots out the sky. There he meets Chiko, a sickly girl made ill by the pollution, and he resolves to cheer her up, heal her and bring down the factory. Made as a pilot film, this fantasy adventure was never shown in theaters.
