Joe is an average movie buff whose girlfriend Silvia feels he takes her for granted, so he brings her to an old action film starring his favorite hero, Captain Blue. The date goes wrong when the evil syndicate Jado beats Captain Blue on screen and its leader drags Silvia into the movie. Jado alters films at will and plans to use them to rule the real world. Joe follows her into Movie Land, where Captain Blue hands him a V-Watch that turns him into the hero Viewtiful Joe. Now he sets out to rescue Silvia and stop Jado's conquest.
