A cat saves a bee from drowning, and that small act of kindness becomes a time-travel reckoning with every extinction humanity caused. The movie moves through earth's history not as spectacle but as grief, each ecosystem a ghost you watch die in real time. By the end, you realize the film was always asking: what does salvation even look like when the damage is already done?
In a ravaged world of 2050, climate catastrophe has reshaped everything. When Tamala rescues Kuronosuke, a honeybee and the last of his kind, from a rain-soaked gutter, the creature offers her something impossible: a journey through time itself. Together they travel backward and forward, witnessing the vast tapestry of Earth's biodiversity across ages. But the further they venture, the clearer the devastation becomes. Civilization's relentless march has consumed what nature once offered freely. Animals vanish. The world empties into silence. As they roam desolate landscapes where extinction reigns absolute, Tamala's survival comes down to nothing. Starvation closes in. In that final moment, Kuronosuke makes an offer that could keep her alive. The film demands you sit with uncomfortable truths about what has been taken, what remains, and the price of continuing to exist in a hollowed-out world. This is not gentle environmental storytelling. It's a haunting reckoning.
