Nobody expected the Lodoss War post-credits gag reel to be better than the actual show. Twenty-seven episodes of chibi chaos, each one a different genre parody that lands harder than it has any right to, the jokes don't build on themselves, they just hit and move on. It's loose, it's stupid, it commits fully to the bit every single time. If you watched Chronicles of the Heroic Knight and thought "the real entertainment was in the bumpers," you were right the whole time.

Welcome to Lodoss Island! gathers 27 short parody segments into a single comedy movie. Each segment first aired as a trailer at the close of an episode of Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight, and all of them show that series' characters drawn in chibi form. With the segments this brief, the movie plays as a string of quick comedic sketches, a lighthearted companion to the series it spoofs.
