The OVA doesn't resolve the journey to Paradise, it dismantles the reason you believed in it. Every episode peels back another layer of what these wolves actually are, what they've always been, until the finale forces you to reckon with the fact that hope itself might be the cruelest lie the show ever told. The pacing collapses under the weight of what needs to happen in four episodes, but that desperation serves the story; it mirrors the wolves' own frantic race against an ending they can't outrun. This is where Wolf's Rain stops being about reaching a destination and becomes about whether the people who loved each other along the way ever truly existed at all.
The last leg of the wolves' pilgrimage begins as Kiba, Tsume, Hige, Toboe and Blue travel with Cheza toward Paradise while the world races toward ruin. Cher and Hubb, together again, choose to follow the pack to the end, and a shaken Quent drifts into the wasteland consumed by thoughts of revenge. Lord Darcia the Third sets his plan in motion and goes after Cheza, putting him in direct conflict with the pack. As their surroundings grow ever more hostile, the truth about Darcia's existence and Cheza's real nature finally comes out in this four-episode finale.
