Toei produced this 1975 collection of twenty animated fairy tales, each running about ten minutes. It belongs to the studio's wider World Famous Fairy Tale line and adapts classic stories as short, standalone fantasy pieces. The episodes first came out on 8mm film reels rather than through cinemas or television broadcasts. Fred Ladd of Greatest Tales, Inc. later reworked the collection for American audiences in 1977, and the final four episodes resurfaced in 1986 within Saban's My Favorite Fairy Tales.
