SYNOPSIS
Hao Ren's life as a broke twenty-something in a crumbling apartment takes a sudden turn when a mysterious organization recruits him as a universe police officer. His assignment: manage the Dream Plane Universe, a pocket dimension filled with bizarre non-human creatures that his shadowy employers refuse to fully explain. What starts as a cushy, low-stakes gig unravels quickly. Strange incidents plague his jurisdiction, and investigating them pulls Hao Ren into something far larger: a connection between extinct civilizations scattered across the Dream Plane and anomalous species showing up on Earth. Ancient gods are stirring. Forgotten catastrophes loom on the horizon. Hao Ren realizes he can't ignore his responsibilities anymore. The job he thought he could coast through becomes a race against cosmic forces he barely understands, armed only with his wits and whatever help his enigmatic superiors will actually provide. Reality itself might depend on how well he can adapt to a universe much stranger and more dangerous than he ever imagined.
