Kimihiro Watanuki works at the odd shop of Yuuko as payment for his wish to be rid of his ability to see spirits. In this two-episode OVA, a direct sequel to xxxHOLiC: Kei, he and his friend and rival Shizuka Doumeki share a meal with Kohane Tsuyuri and her grandmother, and they think back on how meeting one another has changed them. Later, Doumeki's grandfather Haruka appears to Watanuki in a dream and asks him to find items in the family temple's storeroom. Searching with Doumeki, he discovers that each object points to the next, turning the errand into a treasure hunt that draws them into the world inside the books. The OVA blends comedy, drama, mystery and supernatural elements, and it features some unexpected guests.
