A girl in her dead father's penguin coat stumbles into a goblin world that needs saving, and the movie lets her be small and uncertain the whole time. No chosen one revelation, no power awakening. Koko is a little girl who never goes without the penguin coat given to her by her late father. He told her she could fly, and she believes him, though the other children tease her for it. One night she trails a strange cat, who takes her for a legendary heroine, and she ends up in a mystical land of goblins. That world is under threat as an old enemy gathers his forces, and its inhabitants hope Koko can rescue them. Rintaro's fantasy adventure film is animated entirely in 3D CG and was screened at the 66th Venice Film Festival.
