This is what happens when you give a card game anime unlimited animation budget for one duel. Yuusei and Jack's ace dragons don't just fight, they literally evolve mid-battle, and the Buster Mode sequences move at a speed that makes the TV series look like it's running in slow motion. You need to know 5D's already to care, but if you do, this special exists to answer one question: what does it look like when these two dragons stop holding back.

Yuusei and Jack meet in a Riding Duel with the title of Duel King on the line, while Aki and the twins look on. Their signature dragons, Stardust Dragon and Red Demon's Dragon, collide once more, but this time the Buster Mode trap card lets each of them evolve into a new form: Stardust Dragon/Buster and Red Demon's Dragon/Buster. This non-canon special for Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's was made for the 2008 Super Jump Anime Tour, and it mixes action, fantasy and sci-fi in a single episode centered on the rivals' duel.
