Kyuuko is a young fox girl whose father is a Shinto priest and whose mother is a kitsune. Her eight older siblings are gifted and lovely, and they all dote on her, but next to them she feels plain. She also has trouble mastering Charm, the transformation power foxes use. Her childhood friend Haru loves her exactly as she is, yet her self-doubt lingers. As she slowly works through those insecurities, Kyuuko lends a hand to the humans, foxes, divine messengers and gods around her who have troubles of their own. The result is a warm, gentle fantasy slice of life about a girl learning to accept herself while cheering up everyone she meets.
