Sara and Livia stumble into Japan with zero survival skills and somehow become the sanest people in a neighborhood full of strays, misfits, and disasters waiting to happen. The show's real trick is letting each character's weirdness become the reason you actually care about them. By episode three you stop watching a comedy about fish-out-of-water foreigners and start watching a found family discover that belonging has nothing to do with where you're from.

Sousuke Kaburaya is a detective who can barely pay his bills. His luck shifts when Sara, a princess from another world, literally crashes into his life. She's got magic, optimism in spades, and no idea that casting spells in public is a problem here. Once Sousuke takes her home, she picks up modern Japanese life fast and ends up working as his assistant. Meanwhile Livia, Sara's knight, comes through the portal somewhere else, ends up homeless, and adapts to that life with surprising ease. Sara and Livia's relentless positivity begins rubbing off on everyone nearby, including Sousuke and the neighborhood's other oddballs: a devilish lawyer, a divorce agent and a cult leader. It's a comedy with a fantasy twist, built on two outsiders who refuse to let their circumstances get them down.
