Office work breaks you in small ways every day. Aggretsuko screams for you, death metal vocals tearing through a cute red panda, because nobody else will listen to what the job actually costs. The gap between her polite daytime self and her midnight voice is the entire show, and it's the most honest thing about adult life on television.

Retsuko is a 25-year-old red panda working in the accounting department of what was supposed to be her dream company. Instead, her chauvinistic boss does no real work, and her lazy coworkers pile their tasks onto her, keeping her at the office late most nights. She never talks back, so she vents in her own way: alone at a local karaoke club, she belts out death metal and pours her frustration into the microphone. The club becomes her private refuge from daily stress. As she drifts away from her comfort zone and the image others have of her, Retsuko starts to learn that opening her death metal world to other people might not be so bad after all. Based on a Sanrio character, the short ONA mixes office comedy, slice of life and music.
