A children's show host cracks under the weight of existing. Uramichi's deadpan despair bleeds through the cheerful exercises, the mascots confess their own failures mid-broadcast, and somehow this becomes the most honest thing you'll watch about what it means to be 31 and broken. The show doesn't perform recovery or growth. It just shows up tired, says the quiet part out loud, and keeps going anyway, because stopping isn't an option.

Uramichi Omota is a 31-year-old exercise instructor on the children's program "Together with Mama," tasked with delivering cheerful fitness routines and life lessons to his young audience. The problem: the grim reality of adult life weighs heavily on him, and it clashes with the upbeat persona he is paid to project. During taping, Uramichi's mask slips regularly, and sardonic remarks about the harshness of growing up leak out in front of the kids and the cameras. His colleagues aren't much better off. Utano Tadano, who mostly just wants to get married, and Iketeru Daga, a handsome guy with a crude sense of humor, play the show's rabbit and bear mascots and also sing, and they too keep exposing the struggles of adulthood on air. Together, the crew gets through the work one day at a time. The result is a slice-of-life comedy about the gap between a sunny public facade and a weary private reality.
