Retsuko's life has found a comfortable groove. That stability shatters when a new hire named Anai arrives at the company. Her mother shows up unannounced with a mission: get Retsuko married. What follows is a string of arranged marriage meetings that Retsuko finds deeply irritating. Caught between a troubling new coworker and a mother set on seeing her settle down, Retsuko heads to the karaoke bar more often than ever, though screaming into a microphone may not be enough to fix what is going wrong.
