Anime Like Akuei to Gacchinpo
A kid gets flushed down a toilet and somehow that's the least weird thing that happens to him. The comedy lives in the absolute refusal to explain anything or care that nothing makes sense, Springtown, Taiwan just exists in an underwater world, UNCO fights PIPS because they do, and you're just supposed to roll with it. That kind of commitment to pure nonsense, where the gag is that there is no logic, separates this from shows trying to be absurdist on purpose.
SYNOPSIS
Takeshi's ordinary school day takes a ridiculous turn when a bathroom emergency sends him plummeting down a toilet into an underwater civilization. There he collides with Jasmine, a girl who immediately recruits him into UNCO, an organization dedicated to stopping PIPS, a villainous group hellbent on world destruction. What follows is pure chaos. Takeshi barely understands what's happening, Jasmine drags him from one absurd situation to the next, and the stakes somehow involve traveling between the underwater realm and Springtown, Taiwan, where their ally Akuei waits to join the fight. Every mission spirals into unexpected lunacy. The enemies are ridiculous. The logic is nonexistent. Nobody questions why a teenage boy is now fighting global threats through a toilet portal. This is comedy built on sheer nonsense. If you want plot consistency or character development, look elsewhere. If you want rapid-fire gags, ridiculous premises stacked on top of each other, and characters who react to insanity with the same energy as a Tuesday, this delivers exactly that. Absurdist humor at maximum velocity.
