A deadpan detective treats summoned demons like unpaid interns, and the comedy comes from watching them actually deserve it. Azazel whines through every job assignment with the energy of someone clocking in at a job they hate, which immediately reads as real despite the absurd premise. The show gets its laugh not from "demons exist" but from the fact that even hell's hierarchy has middle management, and middle management sucks everywhere.

Akutabe is a detective who deals with his clients' troubles by calling up devils to do the work. One of them is Azazel Atsushi, a low-ranking devil who is summoned one day and then worked hard, with little mercy, by Akutabe and his assistant, Sakuma Rinko. Azazel is not the only one: Akutabe draws on a whole range of magical demons for his cases. The result is a short-format supernatural comedy built around a detective, his assistant and the devils they put to work.
