Hajime spent his childhood clawing through poverty, desperate for strength just to survive. Now, at twenty-nine, he's found something better: stability. Working as a veteran adventurer based in Komai Village, he has settled into a steady, carefree life far from the ambitions of his youth. That changes when a dungeon run turns up a young girl being devoured by a slime. Her name is Lirui, and her story echoes Hajime's own harsh past. Abandoned by her parents, she went into the dungeon alone because she had nowhere else to go. He brings her back to the village to live with him. As Lirui settles into village life, she starts showing abilities no one expected, and their life together may matter more than any quest Hajime has taken on. The result is a slice-of-life fantasy that mixes adventure with the everyday rhythm of two people sharing a home.
