Hotaru walks into a host club ready to fight and walks out drafted into an airsoft team, except nobody tells Masamune that the angry straight guy he's trying to leverage is actually a girl playing it completely straight. When she loses to Masamune Matsuoka, the host uses the bill for the damage she caused to force her into his struggling survival gaming team, Toy Gun Gun. There's just one problem: Hotaru is a girl disguised as a boy, and the team does not accept female members. Keeping up her disguise, Hotaru has to deal with team dynamics and tense matches, even though she is terrible at the game. Her other teammate is Tooru Yukimura, an erotic manga artist who is far from pleased to have her around. As the team aims for the Top Combat Game, a tournament to find the best survival game team in Japan, Hotaru grows close to her teammates and becomes invested in their dream. Equal parts comedy and competitive spirit, the story mixes airsoft battles with the absurdity of maintaining a cover story and friendships forming in the strangest circumstances.
