Four high school girls crash on an island and immediately stop treating it like a disaster, which changes everything about what this show is. The survival tips are real and delivered so naturally between character moments that you forget you're learning, then you're genuinely surprised when one of them actually eats a cicada. The final episode goes places that catch most viewers off guard, but by then you're already invested in whether these girls figure out how to make fire or trap fish, not whether they get rescued.

A school trip ends in a plane crash, and four high school girls, Homare Onishima, Shion Kujou, Asuka Suzumori and Mutsu Amatani, find themselves stuck on a deserted island with little hope of rescue. Shion, Asuka and Mutsu are scared and desperate, but Homare stays oddly composed. She spent her childhood traveling the world with her survivalist father, learning to climb cliffs, trap animals and build shelters, so island life holds few surprises for her. The hard part is keeping her classmates alive. Homare coaches them without any embarrassment through the grittier parts of survival, from drinking fish blood and eating cicadas and hermit crabs to setting traps and running a basic allergy test. Along the way the other girls begin to see that being stranded may not be as awful as they feared. The show is a short-format adventure comedy with ecchi elements.
