The special doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is: a reason to watch Kinji and Aria bounce off each other without the main series needing to pace it out. The chemistry between them carries scenes that would collapse under their own randomness if the voice work and character timing weren't this sharp. This is the special made for people who already love the main series, not an entry point, and it knows exactly how deep to lean into that.

Tokyo Butei High School trains armed detectives, known as Butei, to handle weapons. Kinji Tooyama, a second-year student there, hides a special ability so he can keep an ordinary, peaceful life. That changes when a bombing catches him on his way to school and he runs into H. Aria Kanzaki, the strongest S-Rank Butei student in Assault Studies. This one-episode special mixes action, comedy and romance.
