Hajime doesn't get stronger because the plot demands it, he gets stronger because he's desperate and resourceful enough to claw his way out of hell with nothing but his will and whatever junk he can craft into weapons. Season 2 finally lets the show breathe, ditching the forced classroom drama for actual world exploration and a goal that matters beyond collecting girls. The animation upgrade means you actually feel the weight of his fights now, and the supporting cast finally does something besides smile at the protagonist.

Hajime Nagumo was abandoned by his former friends after being transported to the fantasy world of Tortus, and he built up his once feeble magic in the depths of a labyrinth, gathering allies along the way. After rescuing his classmates from a labyrinth's dangers, he sets out for Erisen to escort Myuu and her mother. With his companions and new party member Kaori Shirasaki, he resumes his quest to clear every labyrinth and find a way back to his own world. Meanwhile, the heroes summoned from Earth reckon with their first major defeat and ready themselves for an invasion by the demon army.
