A grizzled assassin gets a second life and actually acts like one, no teenage romance subplot, no reset button on his instincts. The premise hits hardest in episode one, when you watch his entire brutal career play out in real time instead of getting the usual five-minute montage. What makes it land is that he never forgets what he was, even when he's a kid in a sword-and-sorcery world full of people who think he's just another noble heir.

The world's greatest assassin is silenced by the very organization he served loyally all his life. A goddess who admires his skill offers him rebirth in a realm of swords and magic, on one condition: he must kill the hero prophesied to destroy that world. Reborn as Lugh Tuatha Dé, eldest son of a noble house of assassins serving the Alvan Kingdom, he trains under his father in methods quite unlike the cold killing of his old life. He pairs his modern expertise with his family's secret techniques and magic. As his other talents grow he gains allies, and plenty of attention from the girls around him, but he knows only perfection will be enough against the hero. The series blends fantasy action and adventure with drama, mystery and romance.
