A half-vampire tutor is ordered to kill his student if she can't prove she has magic, then decides to teach her instead. What starts as a high-stakes execution threat becomes something rarer: a show about choosing to believe in someone when everything says you shouldn't. The romance lands because it's built on actual stakes, not just chemistry, and the mystery of why Melida can't use magic keeps reframing what "impure blood" actually means.

Melida grows up as the heiress to House Angel, a noble family that protects humanity from the monsters prowling beyond Flandore's glass walls. The catch: only those with proper noble blood can wield mana, the magic that keeps everyone safe. When Melida reaches adulthood and can't produce a single spark of power, her grandfather sends Kufa, a half-vampire assassin, with a grim mission: train her, or kill her. Kufa arrives expecting a straightforward execution. Instead, he finds a determined young woman who refuses to accept her supposed fate. As he trains her, something unexpected happens. He breaks his orders. He shares his own mana with her, risking everything to give her a fighting chance. Now the two navigate a delicate balance: Melida learns to control borrowed power while hiding the truth from her family, and Kufa grapples with his choice to defy the very organization that created him. Their relationship becomes the heart of the story, mixing genuine warmth with constant danger. Every lesson could expose them. Every moment together could be their last.
