Amiya's transformation from symbol of hope into the thing that terrifies everyone else is the emotional core, the show commits to making you watch her become monstrous. The pacing betrays what it's trying to do; ten episodes can't contain this much political intrigue and character reckoning without cutting corners. What survives the compression is devastating: a story about how hatred metastasizes when you're right about the injustice but wrong about the cure, and how the people closest to you become collateral damage in a war against your own darkness.

A woman once seen as a source of hope has let rage drive her toward war. Talulah, leader of Reunion, has cut loose the core city of Chernobog and sent it straight at Lungmen. Because Chernobog still belongs to Ursus, a clash could spark a ruinous war between Ursus and Yan. Ch'en breaks with Lungmen's Chief Executive Wei Yenwu, reveals that she is Infected and Talulah's sister, and sets out to face Reunion herself with a warrant on her head. Meanwhile, the neutral Rhodes Island, with Amiya, the Doctor and Kal'tsit, moves to stop the collision and the scheme behind it in this action fantasy.
