This is a recompilation film, not a new story, so it lives or dies on what it cuts. The pacing shatters under the weight of eleven episodes compressed into two hours, stripping away the character moments that made season one matter. What survives is pure plot momentum: Eren learning to control his titan form, the Survey Corps finally understanding what they're fighting, the world expanding beyond the walls in ways that recontextualize everything. If you've already seen the series, this adds nothing. If you're looking for a quick recap before moving forward, it gets you there, but you'll feel what's missing.
