Eren and his friends from the 104th find themselves assigned to a newly formed squad under Captain Levi, tasked with protecting both Eren and Historia. Their reason for protection becomes clear when a priest turns up tortured to death, evidence that the Military Police are involved in a cover-up. The situation turns dangerous when the government demands custody of Eren and Historia, and Levi and the squad must stay ahead of the forces sent to capture them. Eren struggles with his Titan transformation, while a deadly killer from Levi's youth is hired to seize the two soldiers he is sworn to protect.
