Akihisa's willingness to humiliate himself for Himeji stops being a joke and becomes the actual plot. The festival setup gives the cast permission to just be themselves without the test-based hierarchy getting in the way, and that's when the romance actually lands instead of bouncing off. You're rooting for these idiots to make enough money to keep Himeji around because by now you actually care if they stay together.

Class F is still stuck with miserable classroom equipment, but the school festival at Fumizaki Academy offers a way out: earn enough money and the class can finally buy better supplies. The stakes are higher than usual, because Himeji's father is uneasy about her being placed in Class F and is weighing a move to another school. As always, Akihisa is willing to do whatever it takes to help her. Drawing visitors to the class's Chinese cafe proves tough, especially once a rival class starts openly trashing it, so the students turn to their secret weapon: Akihisa dressed as a maid. Getting those new desks will also mean winning the Summoned Being Tournament on the festival's second day. The two episodes pick up where the first season ended and blend comedy, romance and school life.
