Totta is an elementary school student who loves fishing. At his father's grave he comes across a strange fishing rod, and when he tries it out he finds that it pulls bar souls out of the barcodes printed on ordinary things like ramen, drinks and candy. From the barcode on his bag of potato chips he fishes up Potepen, a bar soul who becomes his companion. With the Bakutsuri Bar Rod in hand and Potepen at his side, Totta sets out to catch the strongest bar souls he can find, turning everyday products into a new kind of fishing sport in this action adventure.
