Junior high student Kezuru wakes from a strange dream in which he is a wizard, alongside a creature called a mazin and a mysterious girl. The next day, his friend Kuracchi shows off Mazica Party, a newly released card game whose characters look exactly like the ones from his dream. Kezuru then gets an event notice from the global company Mazica, and at the Mazica Store he meets its CEO, Jeff Johns, who hands him a Mazica Gear. On the way home, an airship-like creature attacks him. His Gear bursts open, a magic book appears, and by scratching a card he forms a contract with Barunya, a mazin that blends an airship and a cat. The mysterious girl Anya tells him that people like him are the true wizards destined to save the world by gathering mazica. Kezuru enrolls in the Mazica Academy and takes part in Mazica Party card battles with his partner mazin.
