Griffith's Eclipse breaks you in ways most shows don't even attempt. The animation becomes something closer to religious imagery than action choreography, every frame designed to burn itself into your brain as something you can't unsee. This is where the Band of the Hawk stops existing as a story and becomes a wound.

A year after Guts left the Band of the Hawk, the group has shrunk. Griffith has been jailed by Midland on a charge of treason and held in the Tower of Rebirth at Wyndham Castle, where a year of torture has left him unable to walk, talk or even grip a sword. Now led by Casca and hunted by the kingdom, the Hawks fight to survive while planning to free him, until Bakiraka assassins under Silat strike their hidden camp at night. Guts, drawn back by a rumor, returns at the darkest moment, and he and Casca become one in body and spirit. When the rescued Griffith's heart turns dark and an eclipse blots out the sun, the strange Crimson Behelit that never leaves him offers a choice with a bloody cost. The film mixes action and dark fantasy with supernatural horror.
