Ichigo at half strength fighting a sealed god in his own body, that's the entire premise, and the special never wastes a second on anything else. The combat feels like peak Bleach before the series learned to stretch, when battles still had momentum that matched the emotional stakes. You get the cast leaning on each other because Ichigo can't carry it alone anymore, and that's worth the runtime even if Baishin himself barely exists as a character outside his concept.

Long ago, Soul Society sealed away a shinigami named Baishin, and now he has been released on Earth. Ichigo runs into him one day and loses about half of his reiatsu to the encounter. Stopping Baishin and the destruction he brings falls to Ichigo and Soul Society together. The special is a supernatural action story from the Bleach franchise, mixing adventure, drama and fantasy in a single episode.
