Fifteen-year-old Aia Udagawa has modeling experience, so when his class enters the Aoi Festival Artist Contest, his classmates choose him as their model. Aia has quietly given up on his real ambition of doing makeup, sure that he has no talent for it. Jun Sumisaki, a tall girl who was bullied over her freckles and feels self-conscious about her height, is assigned as his stylist. Jun suggests they swap roles: Aia gets full creative control, and she walks the runway the way her mother taught her. With figures from the beauty industry in the audience, the contest could draw Aia back toward the work he loves. Rooted in slice of life, the story questions what beauty really means and whether effort can overcome a system that seems to favor talent.
