The series returns with a premise that flips the entire foundation of the world: normal people can suddenly see demons. Rin treats it like opportunity. Yukio sees it as catastrophe. That tension between them isn't character conflict, it's the show asking whether salvation and damnation are even the same thing, and whether you can love someone while being certain they're heading toward destruction.

Rin Okumura notices something strange at True Cross Academy: ordinary people are starting to see the demons that roam Assiah, and odd incidents are spreading across the world. While Rin sees this as a chance to make a new friend, his twin brother Yukio is more burdened than ever. Stretched thin between his studies, exorcist duties and teaching work, Yukio keeps quiet about his own awakened powers, unable to grasp their scale or meaning. As Rin and his classmates prepare for the annual Exorcist Certification Exam, the True Cross Order finds the first artificial gate to Gehenna, the realm of demons. Its size and the advanced technology behind it point to the Illuminati, a vastly wealthy and powerful organization that has slipped three spies into the Order, possibly even among the young exorcists in training.
