Sunrise took a 40-year-old mecha series and remixed it into something that moves like liquid violence set to an idol track that has no right to fit this well. One episode, pure kinetic energy, no apology for what it is. This is what happens when a studio stops asking permission to be weird.

BLUE GALE XABUNGLE SIDE R is a single-episode experimental video from Sunrise Robot Laboratory that reimagines the world of Xabungle. Its lively, energetic animation still recalls the playful, over-the-top humor of the original series. The visuals are set to "Ranburu," a song performed by Houkago Climax Girls from The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors. It is a brief sci-fi mecha action piece built around style and music rather than an extended plot.
